Your opponents, however, are in theory not stupid and will kill squads down to the man, denying WBB at all, rather than plinking away at several. Yes, you can pull units through the portal and get another WBB roll. And given sweeping advance wiping out squads, phase out is likely to come much sooner in 5e than it did before. At anything less than 2000, your opponent is simply glad you spent 500 points on non-necrons, making phase-out much easier. Given that taking two is a good idea and will likely perform better than taking one, that's 500 points you just spent. Until you get to 2000 points, I'd say no. But shooting the Monolith at an entire army, a real Joy! I have seen it done with 3, it's, crushing! Good luck! *For the record, Necron armies are hard to play, especially with multiple monoliths, they are just so outclassed in CC by almost everyone. ![]() Intentionally DS into the middle of enemy formations and then use the Gauss flux Arc! I have seen this be 10D6 worth of firepower and about 40 shots! I have used it to break entire armies before!įurthermore if done with multiple monoliths, well, What army in the game could stand for very long with units 2D6 St 6 Gauss hits every turn? It's incredible. ![]() (2) The Monolith doesn't have deep strike mistakes, it pushes things out of the way (1) Every single unit in 12 (I think) of a monolith gets hit with the Gauss flux Arc S6 ![]() Eight Ball wrote:Totally Worth it.Oh, btw: Yeah, it's not usually worth Deep Striking it, as that's just gonna get it killed in CC, or make it less useful for the rest of your forces (Portal has a limited range, etc)Īctually, Deep strikingmay be a great idea, allow me to retorte.
